Skyler Adamson, Lawrence Fruit Tree Project coordinator with Sunrise Project, center, prepares to plant a Serviceberry tree at the Lawrence Public Library Saturday, April 6, 2024. Around the tree, members of the Fruit Tree Community Choir sang a planting song for each of eight fruit trees planted around the library. The Fruit Tree Community Choir was a recipient of a 2023 Rocket Grant through a partnership of Charlotte Street and the Spencer Museum of Art with funding from the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts.

The Fruit Tree Community Choir, with the help of community members, planted a number of fruit trees around the Lawrence Public Library, accompanied by song.

The Fruit Tree Community Choir received a 2023 Rocket Grant from a competitive pool of almost 80 applicants. The 10 recipients of the 2023 grants, designed to support community-centered projects, received project-based grants of $6,000 for a total of $60,000 in funding from The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts.
