The National Weather Service has announced that Douglas County is under a severe thunderstorm watch until 9 p.m. Monday.

The announcement came shortly after 1:30 p.m. and also includes numerous surrounding communities.

the NWS urges residents to be mindful of weather conditions and to take precautions, including seeking storm shelter, as conditions warrant.
