Trick-or-treaters in spooky and silly outfits walk down Massachusetts Street on Oct. 31, 2023.

Sporting costumes that ranged from frightening to funny, kids and adults alike gathered on Tuesday for the downtown Lawrence trick-or-treating event. As the Journal-World has reported, the trick-or-treating event in past years has involved more than 100 downtown businesses.
