Volunteers needed for annual LINK Thanksgiving Dinner

Volunteers are being sought for the annual LINK Thanksgiving Dinner, which will be on Nov. 23 at the LINK meal site in the basement of the First Christian Church, 1000 Kentucky St.

Volunteers will be needed as follows:

• Wednesday, Nov. 22, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. to receive donated food at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 6001 Bob Billings Parkway, and to begin assembling meals for home delivery.

• Thursday, Nov. 23, from 10 a.m. to noon at Corpus Christi to pack home-delivered meals and clean up the prep area.

• Thursday, Nov. 23, at 11:15 a.m. at Corpus Christi to deliver meals.

• Thursday, Nov. 23, from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. to set up, serve and clean up the meal at the LINK meal site,

To volunteer, go to the LINK website, www.linklawrence.org, to sign up beginning Nov. 6. If you have questions, contact Deb Engstrom at engstromdeb5550@gmail.com or call 785-727-3790 after 5 p.m. on weekdays.

Requests for home deliveries must be made through one of the following agencies: Project Lively, Lawrence-Douglas County Public Health, Lawrence-Douglas County Housing Authority, Senior Resource Center, ECKAN, Ballard Center, Salvation Army, Meals on Wheels, Vermont Towers, Prairie Ridge, Wyndham Place, Bethel Estates, Independence Inc., Jayhawk Area Agency on Aging, Catholic Charities, DARE Center, Midland Care or Trinity In-home Care.
