A new leader has taken the reins at Downtown Lawrence Inc., the not-for-profit organization that represents the interests of downtown businesses.

The DLI board of directors has announced Andrew Holt as DLI’s new executive director. Holt replaces longtime director Sally Zogry, who resigned late last year.

Holt most recently served as director of the Downtown Association of Yakima, Washington, and has been involved in the Main Street Program in Dayton and Walla Walla, Washington, according to a news release from Explore Lawrence. He brings over 10 years of experience managing and running main street organizations.

“The DLI Board is excited to bring Andrew to Lawrence. He brings a wealth of experience and a refreshing perspective to our downtown. Our member businesses and the entire community will be well-served by his leadership and industry experience,” said Mike Logan, DLI board vice president, in the release.

Holt was born and raised south of Los Angeles. He moved to the Pacific Northwest in the mid 1990s to work in radio. He has worked in Walla Walla as the tourism service manager, the Dayton Chamber of Commerce and the Downtown Association of Yakima.
