The Douglas County Commission won’t be meeting as normal this Wednesday.

Typically, the commission meets each week for a 5:30 p.m. business meeting, but it’ll take this week off. Douglas County Administrator Sarah Plinsky has previously said the commission routinely takes a week off from meeting during any month with five Wednesdays.

That means commissioners will next meet Wednesday, March 22. The agenda won’t be posted until Friday at the earliest, but it’s likely that one of the main meeting topics will be the Treatment and Recovery Center of Douglas County. Plinsky laid out a tentative timeline for commissioners last month that has the county finishing negotiations with Bert Nash Community Mental Health Center about running the facility by early April. The timeline pinpointed March 15 or March 22 as potential dates for a public update to the commission about the progress of those negotiations.

Once it’s posted, the full agenda for next week’s meeting will be available online at the county’s website: dgcoks.org/commissionmeetings.
