K-10 commuters to experience one-lane traffic near De Soto until September, thanks to new project

Area commuters who take Kansas Highway 10 into Johnson County should expect one-lane traffic on parts of the road until September.

The Kansas Department of Transportation announced a $3.8 million bridge project near De Soto will reduce parts of the busy highway to one lane in each direction for several months.

The lane reductions will begin just east of the Lexington Road interchange, which is the main De Soto interchange, and end at the Kill Creek Road interchange, which is the first interchange east of the Lexington Road interchange.

The lane closures are for maintenance work to a bridge that carries K-10 traffic over Kill Creek.

Clarkson Construction of Kansas City, Missouri, is completing the bridge work. The project is expected to be completed in early September, according to KDOT.
