Weather-related hours, closures announced

Some organizations and entities in the Lawrence area may close or alter their hours because of expected inclement weather:

• The University of Kansas is delaying campus opening until 10 a.m. Thursday for Lawrence and Edwardsville and Leavenworth campuses.

• Gov. Laura Kelly has issued a Declaration of Inclement Weather for Shawnee County, ordering state office buildings there to delay opening until 10 a.m. on Thursday. The declaration takes effect at 11:59 p.m. Wednesday.

• Eudora Public Schools have canceled all classes.

• Tonganoxie Public Schools have closed all buildings for the day and canceled all activities, including parent-teacher conferences and today’s college and career fair. District officials will contact parents about rescheduled dates for conferences.

• Baldwin City Public Schools have canceled all classes for today and also all parent-teacher conferences for today. Decisions about athletic competitions and other activities scheduled for this evening will be made by noon today and communicated to participants by coaches and district officials.

• Lawrence Meals on Wheels has canceled all meal deliveries today.
