LMH Health has been honored with a statewide award partially sponsored by the Kansas Department of Health and Environment, the hospital announced Thursday afternoon.
Emily Hester, LMH Health’s clinical nurse educator in labor and delivery, accepted the Clinical Leader Award for LMH at the Kansas Perinatal Quality Collaborative annual meeting. The award, given by KDHE and Kansas Connecting Communities, recognizes Hester for being a leader in improving maternal mental health.
According to a release from LMH Health spokesperson Jessica Thomas, LMH’s influence showed in how groups at that meeting used the hospital’s postpartum depression screening algorithm as an example for best practice for maternal mental health.
