Cider Gallery to host fundraiser for the benefit of children in Ukraine

The Cider Gallery in East Lawrence plans to host a fundraiser for the benefit of children in Ukraine.

The event, called the UNICEF Sunflower Fundraiser, will take place from 3 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the gallery, 810 Pennsylvania St., in the Warehouse Arts District. Admission is $5 for adults and free for kids. All proceeds will go toward aiding Ukrainian children affected by the ongoing war.

The fundraiser is open-house style. Live music and activities – such as planting sunflower seeds, water-color painting, a bean bag toss, face painting and printing – will run all day. Snacks, drinks and a silent auction will also be available all day. A food truck will be on site until 7 p.m., a cash bar will be open from 6 to 9 p.m., and the live auction will run from 8 to 9 p.m. The live auction will offer fine arts, goods and services.

Some crafts and auction items will be sunflower-themed, based upon sunflowers being the national flower of Ukraine as well as the state flower of Kansas.
