Van Go artists and staff celebrate the unveiling of their new mural, "Sustenance," on the side of the US Bank building at Ninth and Massachusetts streets on Saturday, Feb. 19, 2022.

Arts-based social service agency Van Go unveiled a new mural, “Sustenance,” on Saturday in downtown Lawrence. The mural, which was funded by Kansas Creative, was created in partnership with Lawrence Restaurant Association and honors Lawrence’s food and hospitality industry workers. The ribbon cutting was scheduled in conjunction with the start of Lawrence Restaurant Week.

Van Go is a nonprofit that hires and provides job and life skills training programs to young people ages 14 to 24.
