The 2nd annual Kaw River Roots Festival is set for next week in Lawrence.

The festival is a two-day celebration, Aug. 26-27, of roots, bluegrass and Americana music along the bank of the Kansas River at Abe & Jake’s Landing in downtown Lawrence. The festival will feature multiple outdoor and indoor stages, food and local vendors.

The lineup for the festival includes Leftover Salmon and The Infamous Stringdusters, as well as Fireside Collective, Kyle Tuttle’s All Stars, The Jon Stickley Trio, Daniel Donato, Opal Agafia, Chain Station, Pretend Friend, Sky Smeed, Lily B Moonflower, The Matchsellers, Jake Keegan Band, Tyler Gregory, Jenna & Martin, and Megan Luttrell.

“Bringing such a highly regarded group of Americana & Bluegrass artists all together for a weekend in Lawrence like this has long been a goal of ours. This two day line-up is stacked, don’t miss the local and regional artists on this fest, we are very fortunate to have them here so close to home,” said festival organizer Mike Logan in a news release.

Tickets to the festival and more information can be found on the festival’s website kawriverroots.com.

The event is sponsored by Free State Brewing Co, A&H Air Conditioning & Heating, Springhill Suites by Marriott, Explore Lawrence, Wildman Web Solutions, Abe & Jake’s Landing, Hookset Marketing & Entertainment LLC and the City of Lawrence.

The festival will be followed by the Kansas State Fiddling and Picking Championships Sunday, Aug. 28, in South Park.
