The Lawrence-Douglas County Sustainability Office is set to host its first networking meeting for local ethnic retailers this weekend.
The event is slated for Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Sustainability Office, 1006 New Hampshire St. The meeting will bring together owners and managers from Lawrence businesses African Caribbean Grocery Store, Cosmos Indian Store & Cafe, F Mart Asian Grocery Store, J&V Oriental Market, La Estrella and Mediterranean Market & Cafe.
Per a press release from the Sustainability Office, the participating retailers “all have a paramount role to play” in Douglas County’s local food system. Partners for the program include Kansas Creative Arts Industries Commission and Kansas Healthy Food Initiative.
