A Lawrence dental office is providing free care to veterans on Nov. 6.

In recognition of Veterans Day, Aspen Dental locations nationwide, including an office in Lawrence, will provide free care to military veterans.

Now in its seventh year, the Day of Service provides dental care for veterans at no cost to honor their service and “to break down barriers to health care,” Aspen said in a news release Wednesday.

The Day of Service will be from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Nov. 6. The Lawrence office is at 3110 Nieder Road. Veterans can call 1-844-277-3646 to set up an appointment, which is required.

Six other offices in the Kansas City area are also participating.

“Millions of Americans struggle to access dental care every year, and veterans are no exception,” the release said. “In fact, U.S. veterans are ineligible for dental benefits through the Veterans Administration unless they’re 100% disabled, have a service-related mouth injury, or were a prisoner of war.”
