Adam Doleac is scheduled to preform Saturday at Baldwin City's fireworks show.
Baldwin City will celebrate Independence Day and the waning of the COVID-19 pandemic with a slate of activities Saturday at the Municipal Golf Course, 1500 South St., before a concluding fireworks show.
The celebration will be the first large community gathering in Baldwin City since the start of the pandemic. It will also be the first community fireworks show in two years after thunderstorms led to the cancellation of the 2020 show.
Activities will start at 4 p.m. with children’s games, a beer garden and multiple food trucks. The first of three bands will start playing at 4:30 p.m. The headliner and final performer of the evening will be well-known country music artist Adam Doleac. The fireworks show will start around 10 p.m.
