3 Eudora superintendent candidates to visit, meet public

Updated at 2:52 p.m. Wednesday

The first of three candidates for the Eudora school district superintendent position will make a daylong visit to the district Wednesday, with the other two candidates visiting Thursday and Friday.

Mark Dodge, district communications director, said each candidate would arrive at 9 a.m. to visit district schools and then would have a 4 p.m. meet-and-greet with the public at Eudora High School, 2203 Church St. Each candidate’s day in Eudora will conclude with an executive-session interview with the Eudora school board.

The district will provide the identity and biography of each candidate on the day of the person’s visit via email and social media, Dodge said.

After the three candidates visit, the board will meet in executive session to consider which of the candidates will replace Steve Splichal, who announced recently that he would resign at the end of the school year. Dodge said the board was expected to announce the new superintendent next week.
