COVID-19 cases in Douglas County increase to 489; 167 remain active

Douglas County has reported 489 cases of COVID-19 as of Thursday, an increase of seven cases since Wednesday.

In Douglas County, 322 out of the 489 cases are inactive or beyond the infectious period, according to Lawrence-Douglas County Public Health.

Seven patients at Lawrence’s hospital had COVID-19 on Thursday, the same number as Wednesday.

The county health department had switched to giving updates on the number of COVID-19 cases in the county every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, but provided a brief update Tuesday and Thursday this week due to the rising number of cases.
