Douglas County has reported 461 cases of COVID-19 as of Tuesday, an increase of 13 cases since Monday.
In Douglas County, 299 out of the 461 cases are inactive or beyond the infectious period, according to Lawrence-Douglas County Public Health.
The county health department had switched to giving updates on the number of COVID-19 cases in the county every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, but provided a brief update Tuesday because of the rising number of cases. Spokesman George Diepenbrock said the health department might also issue another brief update Thursday.
Four patients at Lawrence’s hospital had COVID-19 on Tuesday, the same number as Monday.
