COVID-19 cases in Douglas County increase to 783; 102 remain active

Douglas County has reported 783 cases of COVID-19 as of Thursday, an increase of 18 cases since Wednesday.
In Douglas County, 681 out of the 783 cases are inactive or beyond the infectious period, according to Lawrence-Douglas County Public Health.
Five patients at Lawrence’s hospital had COVID-19 on Thursday, one more than Wednesday. Five Douglas County residents have died thus far from COVID-19 or with the virus as a contributing factor in their deaths.
