Volunteers needed to help with annual LINK Thanksgiving Dinner in Lawrence

Volunteers are now being sought to help with the annual LINK Thanksgiving Dinner.

The meal will take place on Nov. 28 at the Lawrence Interdenominational Nutrition Kitchen site, which is in the basement of the First Christian Church at 221 W. 10th St. Meals will also be delivered on that day.

Volunteers will be needed as follows:

• Wednesday, Nov. 27, from 2 to 6 p.m., to receive donated food at Maceli’s, 1031 New Hampshire St., and to begin assembling meals for home delivery.

• Thursday, Nov. 28, from 10 a.m. to noon, at Maceli’s to pack home-delivered meals and clean up the prep area.

• Thursday, Nov. 28, at 11:15 a.m., at Maceli’s to deliver meals.

• Thursday, Nov. 28, from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m., to set up, serve and clean up the meal at LINK.

Requests for home deliveries must be made through one of the following agencies: Project Lively, Lawrence Douglas County Housing Authority, Senior Resource Center, ECKAN, Ballard Center, The Salvation Army, Meals on Wheels, Vermont Towers, Prairie Ridge, Wyndham Place, Independence Inc. or Jayhawk Area Agency on Aging.
