The local Junior Achievement chapter inducted four people into the Lawrence Business Hall of Fame on Tuesday evening. Former printing executive Deanna Bisel, former Kansas Insurance Commissioner Sandy Praeger, former financial adviser Steve Edmonds, and the late Alan “Al” Hack, Jr, a former banker and retailer, became members of the local hall of fame. Pictured above, from left, are Al Hack and Julie Hack, representing the late Alan Hack, Bisel, Edmonds and Praeger. Tuesday’s ceremony at the DoubleTree Hotel also served as a fundraiser for Junior Achievement, which provides business education classes to the Lawrence school district. Last year, the nonprofit provided about 280 classes to 6,000 local students at no charge to the district.
