Kitchenware sale to benefit Douglas County food education programs

A “bring-and-buy” kitchen supply sale will return this weekend to the Douglas County Fairgrounds.

Douglas County K-State Extension Master Food volunteers and the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program educators have scheduled the second annual event from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday in the Flory Meeting Hall at the fairgrounds, 2120 Harper St.

People are invited to drop off kitchenware that is in good condition — small appliances, dinnerware, glassware, pots and pans — at the north entrance to the building. All donated items will be placed on sale for $1 shortly after they arrive, and inventory will change throughout the day.

The money raised from the sale will support Master Food and SNAP educational programming.
