The City of Lawrence has made some adjustments to ensure Summerfest 24 will go on tonight “despite any weather that may arrive.”

The main music stage has moved to the covered pavilion at the Douglas County Fairgrounds, and the kids’ activities, beginning at 4 p.m., have also been relocated to the pavilion. Food trucks will line the street outside of the pavilion for easy access.

As the Journal-World has reported, the Summerfest events, slated to include a drone show after dark, have replaced the traditional fireworks show. The festival at the fairgrounds at East 19th and Harper streets will include:

• Food trucks and Free State Brewery beer sales beginning at 4 p.m.

• Live music from 4 to 9 p.m.

• Crafts Festival in Building 21 from 3 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

• Drone show (around 9:45 p.m.). Drone show viewing is at the “Derby Arena” inside the fairgrounds.

More information, including the lineup of performers and what you can and can’t bring to Summerfest, is available online. Pets, outside alcohol, glass containers, firearms, tents and personal drones are some of the prohibited items.
