A snow plow clears East 11th Street Thursday, Feb. 17, 2022, in downtown Lawrence.

The City of Lawrence is inviting residents to participate in a contest to name a city snow plow.

From Saturday through Dec. 13, Lawrence residents can submit their snowplow name suggestions at lawrenceks.org/snow.

“This fun, interactive event gives the community a unique opportunity to leave their mark on the hardworking vehicles that keep our streets safe all winter long,” the city said in a news release Friday.

Once all submissions are in by Dec. 13, a panel of judges will announce a winner on Dec. 20.

This year, the judges are Craig Owens, city manager; Cori Wallace, director of communications; Melissa Sieben, Municipal Services & Operations director; and Bart Littlejohn, Lawrence city commissioner.
