Community leaders to host COVID-19 press briefing; recording will be shared with public
Community agencies — including Lawrence-Douglas County Public Health, LMH Health, Douglas County government and the City of Lawrence — will host a news briefing today about their unified response to the COVID-19 pandemic, according to a news release from the city.
Lawrence-Douglas County Public Health will also answer questions about the Douglas County health officer’s recent stay at home order, which goes into effect at 12:01 a.m. Tuesday.
The remote press briefing will begin at 3 p.m. today. Afterward, a recording of the briefing will be shared with the public.
Those who will speak during the briefing include:
• Dan Partridge, director, Lawrence-Douglas County Public Health.
• Russ Johnson, president and chief executive officer, LMH Health
• Sarah Plinsky, Douglas County administrator
• Craig Owens, Lawrence city manager
