Lawrence City Hall, 6 E. Sixth St., Thursday, July 7, 2016

The City of Lawrence Utility Billing office has been informed that scammers may be sending texts to some cell phones with a message about past due water bills, according to a city news release.

The city does not send text messages, and it advises residents who have received a text message about their water bills with a link to pay a bill to disregard the text and not click on the link. If residents have any questions about communications they receive from the Utility Billing office, they may call 832-7878.
