LMH Health earned three awards from the American Heart Association for its care based on the nonprofit’s guidelines for responding to patients experiencing cardiac events like strokes.

The hospital announced in a press release Wednesday it earned three awards from the AHA based on its “Get With the Guidelines” program, including the Stroke Silver Plus Achievement Award, Resuscitation — Pediatric Silver Achievement Award and Resuscitation — Adult Bronze Achievement Award.

The Get With the Guidelines program was developed to help save lives of patients who experience in-hospital cardiac arrests by consistently following the most up-to-date research-based guidelines for treatment as outlined by the AHA. The guidelines help minimize the long-term effects of stroke and even prevent death.

Rachel Lynch, LMH Health Director of Organizational Outcomes, said in a press release the hospital is committed to improving patient care by following the latest guidelines and help patients recover better.

“The end goal is to ensure more people in Douglas County and the surrounding region can experience longer, healthier lives,” Lynch said.
