The City of Lawrence will be holding a community open house Thursday evening to help develop a comprehensive plan for the East Lawrence neighborhood.

At the open house, residents can talk with the city’s Planning & Development Services staff about the goals for the plan. The meeting will take place from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday at the Carnegie Building, 200 W. Ninth St.

In 2021, the Planning Commission authorized Planning & Development Services to create neighborhood plans to incorporate into the city’s existing comprehensive plan, Plan 2040.

Along with the meeting Thursday night, the city has posted an online survey that details some of the initial goals and gives a chance to provide feedback. The survey is available on the city’s website.
