The City of Lawrence announced Wednesday that it will collect yard waste in only two weeks during February in order to better allocate resources.
Municipal Services and Operations said in a news release Wednesday that yard waste collection in the city would occur only during the weeks of Feb. 10 and Feb. 24 to allow the MSO crews, who also had to respond to a recent massive winter storm, to focus on priorities like solid waste collection and recycling services.
“These temporary adjustments help us respond effectively to weather-related challenges while ensuring our services remain reliable and efficient,” Michael Leos, an MSO spokesperson, said in a news release.
Regular trash and recycling services will continue as normal. For more information about solid waste services and collection schedules, visit http://lawrenceks.org/swm.
