Updated influenza and COVID-19 vaccines have become available sooner than expected at Lawrence-Douglas County Public Health.

The new COVID booster and flu shots are available at the health department’s clinic, 200 Maine St., starting today while supplies last. People interested in scheduling an appointment can call 785-843-3060.

The health department also has RSV shots available to community members age 65 and older with a Medicare Part D card.

A health department spokesperson told the Journal-World that Lawrence-Douglas County Public Health plans on coordinating a variety of community vaccination events in the near future, and will post more details on social media as they become finalized.

Earlier this month, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention approved new Pfizer and Moderna boosters for Americans 6 months old and older, and they’ve already been available at other local pharmacies.
