A Lawrence man was arrested on suspicion of assault in connection with an incident outside a local gas station on Sunday.

Officers allege that Raymon Naquan Johnson, 38, of Lawrence, aggressively approached two people in front of QuikTrip, 1020 E. 23th St., at approximately 2:15 a.m. and left when the store clerk intervened, according to Lawrence Police Department spokesperson Laura McCabe. Johnson was arrested in the 1900 block of Learnard Avenue a short time later. There were no serious injuries reported from the incident, McCabe added.

Johnson is being held at the Douglas County Jail with no bond, according to the jail’s booking log.
