The annual Holiday Homes Tour will once again give attendees the chance to tour festive homes decorated for the season and to support a local nonprofit.

Tickets for the tour, which will include seven homes, are $25, and proceeds benefit Lawrence Habitat for Humanity, a nonprofit organization that builds homes and sells them to low-income families or individuals. As in 2019, this year’s tour includes a home in North Lawrence built by Habitat for Humanity.

“We are excited to have one of our Habitat homes on the tour again this year, and love that the community has an opportunity to see affordable housing and meet one of our homeowner families,” Lawrence Habitat for Humanity Development Manager Stacie Schroeder said in an email to the Journal-World.

The seven homes on the tour are situated throughout Lawrence, including homes in northwest Lawrence, central Lawrence, Old West Lawrence and the Habitat home in North Lawrence. The addresses of the seven homes are: 1605 Alvamar Drive, 4217 Briarwood Drive, 801 Arkansas St., 5002 Chesbro Court, 817 Westgate Place, 1745 Indiana St., and 207 N. Eighth St.

Another way to provide support will also remain from last year, when the tour was canceled because of the coronavirus pandemic. Schroeder said that because of their popularity, holiday kits that were offered last year would again be available. The holiday kit is $50 and includes one gingerbread craft project, a baker’s dozen assorted homemade cookies, homemade cocoa mix, a 2021 holiday ornament and a holiday-themed mask, according to the Holiday Homes Tour website.

The tour will take place from noon to 5 p.m. Dec. 5. Tickets can be purchased at the Hy-Vee grocery store, the Lawrence Habitat ReStore or online at one.bidpal.net/holidayhomestour2021. Attendees will be required to wear masks while inside the homes on the tour.
