Lawrence City Band to perform July 4 concert

The Lawrence City Band will perform a special concert Wednesday for the July 4 holiday.

The concert will take place at 8 p.m. Wednesday at the bandstand in South Park, 1141 Massachusetts St., according to a news release from the city. In the event of inclement weather, the concert will be moved to Room 130 of Murphy Hall on the University of Kansas campus.

The city’s Brown Bag Concert Series will continue Thursday with a performance from KC Blue Kitty and the Kewl Katz, the release said. Thursday’s performance will be from noon to 1 p.m. in front of the U.S. Bank building, 900 Massachusetts St. In the event of inclement weather, the concert will be at Watkins Community Museum, 1047 Massachusetts St.

Both concerts are free and open to the public. A full list the city’s summer concerts is available on the city’s website.
