A website for the new DBT Center of Lawrence and Kansas City went live Friday afternoon, and it lists the two locations that will soon house the business.
Several therapists who recently resigned en masse from the dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) program at Bert Nash Community Mental Health Center are starting the DBT Center as their own private practice. The website does not list the individual practitioners.
The first location listed is 1311 Wakarusa Drive, Suite 2100, in Lawrence. That is the same building that houses TherapyWorks and a handful of mental health practitioners.

The other location is 4010 Washington St., Suite 410, in Kansas City, Mo. That is in Old Westport, near the intersection of 40th Street and Broadway Boulevard, and about a block north of Westport Road.
The website, which can be reached by entering dbtlawrence.com or dbtkcmo.com, also hosts information about the center’s programming and lists some specific areas of practice: adult and adolescent DBT, radically open DBT, trauma recovery, assessments and gender identity.
Reached briefly via social media Saturday, one of the therapists, Rachel Polk, said the group is still in the beginning stages of forming the business and doesn’t have many details to share at this time, but the website does enable former and prospective clients to contact the group. There is no phone number listed, but it offers a contact form to request an appointment.
An email address listed on the website was not yet working Saturday, but troubleshooting was underway to get it up and running as soon as possible.
