What are your favorite and/or least favorite things about Lawrence? The restaurants and bars — I live at Merchants — and the people read books here, and I enjoy that. Least favorite is there’s nothing on the west side of town where I live.

What’s your spirit animal? A Newfoundland dog, because they’re large, black and very friendly

What’s your proudest moment? When I lost 45 pounds.

Who would you choose to have dinner with, living or dead? Oprah, because she’s awesome. She created an empire out of nothing and that’s fascinating.
