KU visual art grad students put work on display

Part one of a two-part show featuring work by Kansas University visual art graduate students is now open at KU.

The free exhibition, which runs through Oct. 3, is on the third floor of the Art and Design Building, located at 15th Street and Naismith Drive. Part two of the show will run from Oct. 5 to Oct. 17 in the same location. Visitor parking is available at the Allen Fieldhouse Parking Garage, 1501 Irving Hill Road.

A joint reception is planned from 2 to 4 p.m. Oct. 5.

“These exhibitions celebrate the diverse talents, voices and artistic directions exemplified by this gifted group of art students,” Norman Akers, associate professor and director of graduate studies in visual art, said in a news release. “For the public, it is a marvelous opportunity to gain a ‘sneak preview’ into the next generation of groundbreaking talent.”
