Registration has opened for the Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department’s 12th annual Pooch Plunge at the Outdoor Aquatic Center, 727 Kentucky St.

From 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Sept. 2, people can bring their dogs to the outdoor pool before it is drained for the season.

Participating dogs must have proof of current vaccinations on the day of the event and must remain under control of their owners at all times.

The event is $5 per dog and is free for spectators. Registration is available at the door or online.
