Strong storms are expected south and east of the Lawrence area Monday evening.

The National Weather Service has issued a tornado watch, effective until 10 p.m., for Franklin and Johnson counties, south and east of Douglas County.

Douglas County, meanwhile, is under a “hazardous weather outlook” for this evening, but the more severe storms with potential hail, damaging winds and isolated tornadoes are expected south of Interstate 35.
