Leadership Lawrence celebrates its 30th anniversary this year.

The program runs from September until May, and applications — available at lawrencechamber.com — will be taken until Aug. 10.

Participants meet once a month, and work on outside projects as well.

“The goal of the program is to get participants ready to handle daunting challenges in their community,” said Sue Hack, Leadership Lawrence director.

The program costs participants $1,200, but the organization is willing to help.

“We work with you to make sure money is not the reason why you cannot take part in Leadership Lawrence,” Hack said.
