Mission Hills, Kansas ranked as nation’s third-most affluent neighborhood

? The northeast Kansas community of Mission Hills has been ranked as the country’s third-most affluent neighborhood.

Forbes magazine released the rankings this past week.

Mission Hills is located in Johnson County, on the border with Kansas City, Mo. It has a population of 3,500 and median household income of $243,000. The average home is worth $995,082.

Forbes awarded the first-place spot to the Dallas suburb of Westlake. Coming in second was the village of Kenilworth, Ill., in suburban Chicago.

Forbes created its rankings by looking at census data that included household income estimates.
