KU surpasses fundraising goal for United Way of Douglas County

Kansas University faculty, staff and students raised $299,359 in 2010 to support the United Way of Douglas County.

The amount surpassed both the school’s goal of $285,000 and last year’s total of $296,000, according to a release from the United Way.

The campaign total included $47,000 raised by the 2010 Rock Chalk Revue, and was further supported by 805 people on campus who gave money.

The total number of people participating in the campaign also increased over last year’s total of 732.

About 15 percent of KU faculty and staff participated in the campaign.
