Dodge City ? The Wright Park Zoo in Dodge City has been accredited by the Zoological Association of America.

Zookeeper Tony Hornberger said the accreditation is a step in the right direction for the zoo.

The ZAA is geared toward animal owners, breeders and smaller zoos and focuses on care for the animals.

The Wright Park Zoo received the accreditation this month.

Hornberger told the Dodge City Globe that he worked on accreditation for two and a half years.
