Douglas County man arrested after Oct. 31 domestic incident

Douglas County Sheriff’s office arrested a 42-year-old Douglas County man on a warrant for criminal restraint, aggravated battery, criminal threat and aggravated kidnapping.

The charges stem from an Oct. 31 domestic situation between the man and his 34-year-old girlfriend, Sgt. Steve Lewis said.

On the night of Oct. 31, the victim’s 13 year-old son called dispatch to report a problem at the man’s home at 1582 E. 800 Road, which is west of the South Lawrence Trafficway and south of U.S. Highway 40.

Deputies responded to the scene, but the man had left the area. Lewis wouldn’t release any more details on the incident.

The case was passed onto the Douglas County District Attorney’s Office, which issued a warrant for his arrest.

He was arrested at his home Thursday afternoon and booked into the Douglas County Jail.
