Style scout: Chris Lovely
Chris Lovely
Age: 24.
Sign: Yield.
Hometown: Wichita.
Time in Lawrence: Off and on for three years.
What were you doing when scouted? Walking my dog, Murphy. He goes by Murph.
Occupation: Banker – when I’m not fighting crime.
What is your work wardrobe like? “Mad Men” meets Harvey Birdman. I feel comfortable in a nice pair of slacks.
How would you describe your style? Mr. Rogers chic. I wear a lot of loafers. Haven’t had to tie shoe laces in years. If I’m not dressed for work I’m usually wearing a plain T-shirt and a pair of jeans. Mostly muted/neutral colors, probably because of the fair skin and bright red hair.
What are your current favorite fashion trends? Argyle everything. Never underestimate a man in a nice sweater. Now that it’s getting warmer out, sweater vest, of course.
What are your least favorite fashion trends? Jeggings. I actually just learned the name for the these pants. They look uncomfortable to me. Remind me of maternity wear.
What would you like to see more of/less of in Lawrence? Less active wear. We both know you’ve never climbed a mountain. Don’t dress like you’re about to.
Who are your fashion influences? My sister and her fiance, Sid. My sister is a clothing designer, and Sid is a distributor for a clothing company. They send me jackets and belts and shirts. I trust their fashion sense.
People say I look like: Howdy Doody. It’s funny to me, too.
Tell us a secret: I’m not wearing any underwear. Shhh.
