Blue-chip high school basketball player Terrence Jones, a 6-foot-8, 220-pound senior from Jefferson High in Portland, Ore., will announce his college choice at 5:30 p.m. central time on Friday, Jones’ mother, Linda, told Rivals.com via text message this afternoon.

Jones, who is Rivals.com’s No. 13-ranked player, visited Kansas University’s campus Sunday through Tuesday. He’s also considering Washington, Kentucky, Oklahoma, UCLA and Oregon.

In a text message to the Journal-World, Linda said the announcement would be at Jefferson High.
