FSHS swimming wins

? Free State High’s girls swimming team won the Manhattan Quadrangular Wednesday with 455 points.

“It was pretty exciting to have first and second, or first and third in most events,” Free State coach Annette McDonald said. “Our relays looked good. Their times were faster and we’re looking like we’re pretty strong. They really did well.”

Manhattan (401), Maize (321) and Junction City (116) followed the Firebirds.

Free State placed first in the 200 medley relay and the 400 free relay. Kayla Hedges, Heather Clark (200 IM, 100 backstroke), Chloe Portela (100 fly), Morgan Flannigan (500 free) and Riley Moore (100 breaststroke) all had first-place finishes.
