Rape-reporting laws topic of KU speech

The Kansas University Federalist Society is sponsoring a speech next week on the constitutionality of mandatory statutory rape reporting laws, among other issues.

Teresa Collett, a professor at the University of St. Thomas School of Law, will be visiting KU Tuesday and will deliver a speech called “Sex, Jurisprudence and Rock and Roll,” at 12:30 p.m. in room 104 of Green Hall.

Collett has served as a special attorney general for both Oklahoma and Kansas. She represented U.S. Rep. Ron Paul and the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons before the U.S. Supreme Court in the defense of the federal ban on partial birth abortion.

The event is free and open to the public.
