Poet’s Showcase: ‘Storm’

Jolted awake from

the arms of Morpheus by

crashing, flashing,

booming aerial earthquakes.

Nocturnal drums beating

thumping, pounding. Snaking

leviathan across the heavens

loosening torrential rain

at our open window.

Rumbling aftershocks subsiding

along distant horizons

mumbling away soundlessly.
