Local blacksmith elected to board
Kate Dinneen of Walt Hull Iron Work, 802 E. 1250 Road, Lawrence, was recently elected to the board of directors of the Artist-Blacksmith Association of North America.
The ABANA is dedicated to preserving and perpetuating the art and craft of blacksmithing and has more than 5,000 members in more than 60 affiliates.
Dinneen started her career in blacksmithing at Walt Hull Iron Work in 1994. She frequently assists other blacksmiths with demonstrations and travels to national conferences in the United States and England.
