When Luke Smith cast a vote for the McCain-Palin ticket, the Arkansas City man says his decision included a “debt of honor” to the governor of Alaska.

Sarah Palin helped Smith get his Eagle Scout award 11 years ago when he lived in Wasilla, Alaska, where she was the mayor.

Smith, a Republican, says Palin is a strong, independent woman.
